Expressive Arts Days

The school will be running a series of days packed with activities for Year 7 and 8 pupils all to do with the Expressive Arts. There will be stage fighting, musical theatre, mask work, belly dancing and much much more.

The event kicks off on Friday and the Library is going to be involved with helping the students to record their experiences using ICT.

This means setting up space on the school VLE to allow for discussions and the posting of photographs as well as setting up video cameras for Vox Pops and interviews.

It should be a great few days - with the Open Morning in the middle of it all on Saturday.

Normandy

Year 7 Geography students have just successfully completed a research project comparing Mavlern with Normandy. Pupils were placed into groups to research different aspects of the area including the Beaches, Places of Interest, Food and Drink and the History of the area.

The task required them to create an advert to entice Malvern residents to visit France. The pupils learned how to record their commentry using Audacity and add it to their slides. The resulting presentations were then shown to the class.
There was some memorable information about Cheese, the Giverny gardens, the D-Day landing beaches and the Norman conquest.
